Cross the river to the winding streets of one of Rome’s oldest and most charming neighborhoods, including the early-Christian church S. Maria in Trastevere, and winding uphill to Bramante’s Tempietto, and the spectacular Acqua Paola, a monumental fountain built by the Borghese pope to celebrate the reconstruction of Trajan’s Aqueduct. We can stroll past the city’s earliest know synagogue and check out the ancient river port which now hosts Rome’s huge Sunday Flea Market, or hike a bit up hill to the Gianicolo for a spectacular baroque fountain that presides over one of Rome’s legendary vistas.
